Exhaustion.
Doing it tired is better than not doing it at all.
This morning, I heard my alarm go off at 6am. A beautiful harp playing to awaken me from my slumber. But I DID NOT want to get up. I felt like I had just fallen asleep.
I reset my alarm for 7am and attempted to fall back asleep.
I tossed and a I turned. Why didn’t I just wake up and go the gym and get it done?
After starting this BeachBody workout program on top of my other cardio/lifting schedule, I feel so exhausted and sore.
So after kissing my husband goodbye on his way to work, I headed to the gym after procrastinating. I had no energy as I began my light jog on the elliptical. I was barely even trying.
But by the middle of my workout, I got this burst of energy. Mainly because a really catchy song came on. And I once again, remembered why I’m doing this. I want to give it my all. I want a new healthy life for myself.
But we have to be realistic that we may not give it our all in the gym every single day.
Doing it tired is better than not doing it at all.
But after looking at some of the goals I didn’t reach the first 10 days, like getting up by 6 every morning, I realized that I really do need to work on my discipline.
I tend to feel rushed in the morning to get stuff done before work starts, but if I would just get up at 6am like I originally wanted to, things would be done relaxed and on time.
The real goal here is to not make any excuses.
We have the time. And like I said before, you make time for what is important to you, if not, you’ll make an excuse.
I am done with all the excuses. That is how we ended up 100+ pounds overweight in the first place.
So tomorrow, 6am I will be up when that alarm goes off. I will do my absolute best in the gym. If I am tired, I will do it tired. I don’t have any more excuses to give.
Yes, our body needs rest days as well. As long as everyday is not a rest day. Or you are using “rest” as an excuse to miss workouts and such.
Exhaustion is a part of this process as we work to lose weight. Our bodies are adjusting to HUGE changes. Our hormones are regulating. Our metabolism is speeding up. Our muscles are being worked. Our heart and lungs are learning to work harder and better our cardiovascular system.
As long as we just don’t give up just because we are tired.
Do it tired.
Cause if you’re working hard every day, you’re going to be tired, that’s a given. But exhaustion is a heck of an excuse to stop you from reaching the finish line.
