It is day 30 y’all! Or day 10 (considering I was at my original starting weight 10 days ago, so maybe we will go with that).
There are days where I daydream about food. Where I plan my next meal while eating the one I have sitting in front of me. Where I think about all the ways I could “cheat” on my diet. I look up restaurants and scour the menus.
The real question is, why do all “bad” foods taste so good? Especially when we are trying to lose weight! It just seems extremely unfair, especially when they all taste so darn wonderful.
The issue with all these bad foods is that we are still hungry an hour later.
And that is what leads us to binge, because we are never fully satisfied when we eat these types of foods. These bad foods are filled with preservatives, chemicals, processed sugars and things we aren’t even able to digest. They damage our health on a daily basis.
We need to fuel our bodies with whole foods. Lots of fiber, proteins, healthy fats and even carbs!
Ew Sierra, stop. I don’t wanna hear this right now. I’ve heard this a million times.
BUT HOLD ON, that doesn’t mean these healthy foods have to taste bad!! There are ways to have all the things you love with substitutes that work WITH your body instead of AGAINST your body, and still taste just as good. And, you will be fuller longer!
It’s time to fuel our bodies with healthy, whole foods that still taste amazing!
Fellow foodies, hear me out! We don’t have to give up good food or flavor! We just need to explore the substitutes that still taste as great as our favorite cheats!
You like pasta? Find a substitute! I like spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles!
If you want it to taste exactly like pasta, I suggest my favorite Natural Heaven pasta made from hearts of palm (that can be found on Amazon)! It tastes just like REGULAR PASTA!
You like pizza? Try cauliflower or gluten free crust! They have plenty of healthy crust options to make your own pizza!
You like desserts? there are so many substitutes for whatever your dietary restrictions and goals are!
The options are endless.
But we cannot continue to eat crappy quality foods and expect to lose weight or even feel good.
The past 25+ years were my cheat meal. Now it’s time to live a life sacrificing those “bad” foods and substituting them with just as flavorful, scrumptious things that make me feel better.
I’ve made too many excuses that I just don’t have any left.
Just reminding you that you DO NOT have to give up what you love, just make it even better. You will thank yourself later, I promise.
I refuse to have any more cheat meals or have those words even in my vocabulary.
I can eat anything that I want, I just have to prepare it with ingredients that make me feel good and are better for my health.
Because never will I ever give up on flavor. I love food way too much to eat rice cakes and celery the rest of my life.
