Do you practice what you preach?
So many of us give advice to others that we don’t actually take ourselves.
As Christians, it is our duty not to live a double life, saying one thing and doing another.
My husband was having a moment of fear with something related to his health. I kept telling him that he needed to speak life and believe for his healing.
An hour later, I whined to him non stop about how I didn’t feel good and I was sick of dealing with this back pain.
Hypocrite.
My words to him said one thing but my actions said another.
Are you familiar with this scenario? Just fill in the blanks.
…let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
The Bible couldn’t be more clear. We can’t just say to believe for healing to others when we don’t believe for it ourselves. We can’t tell others to save ourselves for marriage while we are hooking up with people. We can’t tell others to stop drinking when we get drunk every weekend. The list goes on…
It makes us hypocritical. It makes us less credible.
As Christians, we need to be the most credible people that others can look to. We will never be perfect but we need to be striving to build our faith and take our own advice.
Many Christians have gotten a bad name because what they say with their mouth doesn’t line up with their actions.
We need to be dependable. People should be depending on us for the answers and be able to look at us as Godly examples.
I want to be a believer that believes. I want to have pure relationships. I want to be dependable. I want people to see the love of Jesus through me. I want people to see my life as an example of what following Jesus looks like.
How about you? Do you practice what you preach?

Pray with me!
Father God, forgive me for the moments that I say one thing and do another. I want to practice what I preach. I want to be a walking example of Your love and redemption. Help me to be credible. Help me to be dependable. Let the words that come out of my mouth edify and build up others in truth. I want to be used by you. Give me supernatural faith.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
