Have you ever wondered what it is that people see when they look at you? What flaws do they see? What is your biggest weakness that others pick up on? Especially from the perspective of the people closest to you.
Maybe you are a worrier, who stresses about any and everything. Someone who has anxiety about things that haven’t even happened or may never happen. Who allows their fear and anxiety hurt their relationships and daily life.
Maybe you are an angry person, who flips out over the smallest, miniscule things. Someone who has bursts of anger about things they could have easily worked through with a simple conversation. Who allows their anger to get the best of them, hurting those around them with their harsh responses.
Maybe you are super emotional person, who lets their emotions dictate every decision they make. Someone who gets so wrapped up in their feelings, that they lack a sense of reality. Who allows their feelings to push away, confuse or irritate people.
What kind of person are you?
Ask the people closest to you, your friends, family, or spouse, what the biggest weaknesses are that they see in you.
Whatever your weaknesses may be, God’s grace picks up the slack. His power is made perfect in our weakness.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11
The more weakness we have, the bigger the opportunity God has to display His power.
Once we understand what our weaknesses are, that is when we are aware of them and can work on them. We can ask God for His grace and strength to help us to overcome those things.
It is so important that we allow God to deal with our weaknesses. And as as we grow, others will see the change in us. Because without growth, we deny God the opportunity to get the glory.
And God most definitely deserves all the glory for it. It’s all because of His grace and power that makes us perfect in weakness.
We don’t want to be know as anxious worriers, as angry yellers or overly emotional wrecks.
But it is awesome to be known as someone who has weaknesses but actively works on them and allows God to perfect them.
What do you want to be known for?
