I am not talking about denying that God exists. I am talking about denying God the opportunity to work and move in your life, and taking it into your own hands.
I remember years ago, reading a breaking news story about a young newlywed woman who decided to do doctor assisted suicide because she was diagnosed with brain cancer that gave her only a year or two to live.
I followed that story like a mad woman. Always checking up on her. I then started praying for her, fervently. I spent hours in tears asking God to do something. To change her mind. To heal her. That she would have a coming-to-Jesus moment, forgoing the decision to end her life.
The news applauded her for being so bold and courageous. And I thought it was selfish. Because, if you know Jesus and what He did for us on the cross, you would never end your life prematurely.
You would believe for a miracle and healing, or at least spend your last days full of meaning and purpose, regardless of the outcome.
She was denying that God could ever heal her. She was denying that God could help or show up. I don’t know about you, but the Bible says that healing belongs to me and I will believe for it, even if it feels impossible.
Eventually she publicly announced that she was regretting her decision to end her life and wanted more time with her new husband, but the news and people following her story pressured her. She ended her life, before it was supposed to end and it broke me.
From then on, I made the decision to never deny God the opportunity to move and work and do a miracle. He does not work on our time table. He doesn’t always do things in the way we want him to or how we imagine. But God never lets us down regardless of what the situation feels like.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. –Romans 8:38
Regardless of the situations you are in, I encourage you to believe that God will work it all together for good. It is hard because we feel symptoms or it feels impossible, but we should never rely on how it feels or seems.
I have seen God heal the blind, pop open the ears of the deafs, the lame walk. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I’ve seen God do miracles. And if you want to know all the miracles that I’ve gotten to witness, send us an email and I’ll tell you all about the miracles of God!
Don’t deny God the opportunity to reveal himself, to show up, to do something that seems impossible. He is the God of the Impossible. When it feels the most hopeless, that’s when God can swoop in and show who He really is…a miracle worker.
Are you willing to trust God whole-heartedly and believe that He will do the impossible in your life?
