Are you falling apart?
Have you ever had days that you just wanted to lay in bed all day? Days that you weren’t motivated? Days where you feel like you are falling apart and life is just so overwhelming?
I have had those days… a lot.
Sometimes it feels like we just can’t get it together. Like we don’t even know how to begin to pick up the pieces.
I am so thankful Jesus never says, “This is the last time I’ll put you back together.”
Our main problem is that we run to other things first to fix us. Some of us run to other people when life gets hard. Some of us run to food for comfort. Some of us run to alcohol or drugs. Some of us run to isolation and feelings.
God wants to be the thing we turn to when we don’t know which way to go. He longs to be the one we run to when we are falling apart.
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. Nahum 1:7
God is where we find our strength. That’s when the pieces get put back together, in the presences of Jesus. That is our one true refuge.
God is so good. He doesn’t turn us away because it’s the millionth time we’ve fallen apart or messed up. He always opens His arms to us as a safe place.
God’s arms are the safest place to fall apart. He is more reliable than your friends or family. He is more comforting than food or alcohol. He is wiser than any self-help book.
What are you running to when you feel like you’re falling apart?
